Export Chrome bookmarks

Start by exporting bookmarks.html from Chrome

Chrome exports bookmarks into one HTML file. GoToNav reads it, previews folders and duplicate URLs, then imports selected groups into a local start page.

The export file is only useful when you can clean it up.

bookmarks.html is good for backup, but not for daily cleanup. Put it into a working surface before importing everything.

The Chrome export menu is easy to miss.
The HTML file is readable but hard to edit.
You may worry that import will change original Chrome bookmarks.

Export steps

Open Bookmark Manager

Press Ctrl+Shift+O in Chrome, or Cmd+Shift+O on Mac.

Choose export

Open the three-dot menu and choose Export bookmarks.

Upload to GoToNav

Upload bookmarks.html, preview it, then import selected groups.

What to check after export

Duplicate URLs

See duplicate URLs before import. Duplicates are skipped by default.

Large groups

Groups with dozens of links should be cleaned up first.

Local storage

Guest imports stay in this browser and do not edit original Chrome bookmarks.
